The Delaware River and Estuary Ecosystem Data Gathering Initiative (DGI), first envisioned as a white paper in 2018, officially launched on July 29, 2025. ICI Innovations congratulates our partners at the The Maritime Exchange for the Delaware River and Bay on this milestone, which reflects years of vision, collaboration, and dedication to improving how waterfront construction and dredging projects move forward.
The DGI system provides a centralized, vetted repository of scientific, environmental, and industry data. By streamlining access to information — from endangered species reports to permitting studies and jurisdictional boundaries — DGI simplifies the permitting process and reduces both complexity and time.
ICI contributed by developing the system’s database and spatial mapping interface, built on our proprietary RIVAS software. This technology connects spatial and non-spatial data in one seamless portal, giving stakeholders efficient access to the information they need.
We thank the Maritime Exchange, Mott MacDonald, and the many stakeholders and agencies who collaborated to bring this initiative to life. The DGI system demonstrates what strong partnerships and innovation can achieve, and we are proud to have played a role in its success.
Congratulations again to the Maritime Exchange on this important achievement.
